Anna Price Petyarre was born to the late Glory Ngarla in approximately1965 at Utopia Station, 270kms north east of Alice Springs. She is the niece of Emily Kame Kngwarreye, the internationally acclaimed Utopia artist.

Anna Petyarre began producing batik and started painting on canvas in the early 1990s when canvas and acrylic paints were first introduced to the Utopia community. Anna’s main Dreamings include Yam, Yam Seed, Wildflower and Country. Her style varies from bright complimentary colours with minimal dot-work to a more intricate use of dot-work that showcases her amazing accuracy and painterly ability. Her paintings seem to move as your eyes move across them.
